In Which "Carr's" Will Anticipate, Temporarily I & Future Price Redactions 1 Price reductions, 3S you know by reading the daily papers, have been announced by the mills on many commodities. On certain lines where the process from raw material to consumer is quick, we have been able to pass along these reductions immediately. Announcements by "Carrs" of some of the more important reductions effective at once have been made dar ing the past week. Other cutting of the cost of living will be announced by us from time to time as conditions make it possible. Re-marking of prices to reflect reductions of cost has been going on daily, in some cases even when we had to take a loss. But there are still many lines of merchandise that require time to be made up or where the makers have stocks of ma terial on hand on which the gradual or even abrupt changes cost now cannot be passed along, normally, until midwinter of or spring. NEVERTHELESS, to maintain our leadership and, frankly, to increase our volume by falling in line with the expectation of lower prices—even at a loss to ourselves on stocks we own at the higher prices—we have planned— A Sale That Will Give You the Benefit at Once of Price Lowering for Months fa Ml 8 II A large part of our stocks will be put before you, for a limited time at prices anticipating reductions not to be general un 6! $ til late winter or early spring. Some lines will be reduced for this sale, on which there has not bjeen a sign or a whisper of Ri til probable price reductions as yet. IS On Cotton Goods and some Silks we are able to make many reductions that we have already advertised—on Dress Goods we must take a loss, and will, to bring them into this sale. On some kinds of Hosiery we will not have to take a loss to offer them at reduced prices—on other Hosiery, and on underwear we have had no reductions and must bear the price & concessions of this sale ourselves. ti This sale will last for only a limited time, but it will enable all who respond promptly to equip themselves for winter \t K1 almost as great a saving as though the cost to us of ALL LINES of merchandise was now lower, instead relatively ONLY A FEW LINES. fi You will be getting the benefit of cost prices not offered us for several weeks or months. The sale will begin Friday, November 5th. Detailed announcement of hundreds of money saving $ iai items will appear in next week's issue of this paper. $ You Can Always Do Better" 44 HI at W 0. M.
